    Welcome to Enterprise Search!

Welcome to the holiday edition of Enterprise Search! Like the rest of the country, we're enjoying chilly weather and hot chocolate by the fireplace - we even had frost!

With tight IT budgets, does it really make sense to spend money for a internal or customer-facing search technology upgrade? You'll see that our answer is "It depends".

Also in this issue we're pleased to present a success story from a user. Advanced Digital Data was looking for a search technology back at Enterprise Search Summit in May, and they are now up, running, and happy with their implementation of ISYS Search. Our Theresa Shafer interviews Tom Hemderson of ADDS in our first article.

And we finish off this fifth year of the Enterprise Search newsletter with our up-to-the-minute What's New column, and Dr Search answers a question about an obscure Nutch error. Happy Holidays!
