I've provided information on unsubscribing at the end of this newsletter.
In this issue, guest author John Lehman of HighClassify continues his series about taxonomies and categorization,
and Mark Bennett of New Idea Engineering writes about how
to tweak searches to improve results list rankings.
This month's issue contains two articles:
What's hot this month ...!?
We're seeing a lot of activity involving the open source full-text search engine
Lucene, from the Apache Group.
Though not as mature a product as some of the well established
corporate offerings, it seems to be stirring up quite a buzz. We'll be talking about that in future issues.
In the meantime, if you're a real Java-Head, you might check it out now for yourself at
http://jakarta.apache.org/lucene/docs/index.html.
Warning: *some assembly* required!
Adding context sensitive ads is a hot topic. Read the article on the
Business 2.0 website at
http://www.business2.com/articles/mag/0,1640,49475,00.html
Even if you don't run ads on your site, running context sentitive messages
makes senss to promote drivers, support tips, or marketing promotions. New
Idea Engineering can help you add all these capabilities to your own web
search, see http://ideaeng.com/optimize/
